Diploma: "Appreciating the old in the new design"

The present thesis is an interior design project for an office located on Tondi Street in one of the former barracks constructed in the czarist era.  The office was designed as an open concept, without permanent partition walls between rooms.  The idea of this project and the aim of the thesis was to achieve transparency of space, i.e., without visual restriction, for interpersonal communication in the offices is very important, and therefore transparency has an important role to play. However, it has to be added that, considering the valuable architecture of the building, a harmony had to be achieved between modern design and old context.  Office furnishing should follow the principle: a garment must suit the wearer.
